Candidate will provide project manager consulting services for the client’s management.  He/she will be responsible for leading, planning, managing and directing multiple highly complex or enterprise-wide technical programs consisting of multiple projects and multiple technical project teams for the Client.  He/she will oversee the coordination, scheduling and team building while maintaining working relationships with functional areas outside of IT including outside vendors.

This position has responsibility for the allocation of staff and budget resources as needed to achieve the objectives of one or more technical projects any of which could span multiple areas and business functions.  This role will include project management activities to managerial activities interacting with other project managers, program managers, technicians, business analysts, business users and managers.

The role is responsible for reviewing larger more extensive requirements of projects to assure adequate resource assignment, planning and scheduling technical project deliverables, goals and milestones.  Other duties include the creation of strategies for project risk mitigation and contingency planning, implementing and governing technical project management standards in compliance with Systems Development Life Cycle processes.

The role will assist the Deputy CTO in the construction of the ITS PMO and the governance required for this new unit.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Application of project management methodologies and principles
  • On time delivery of assigned projects
  • Project status reporting
  • Oversight of requirements gathering with the business users and technical analysts
  • Oversight of requirements definition to functional descriptions for the system
  • Oversight of test plan strategy, project plans,  design, execution, risk and issue identification and resolution, documentation, status reporting

Work assignments may include other projects deemed necessary by and under the direction of Client management.
