Business Analyst With Life Insurance Industry Experience

Location: New Haven, CT

General Characteristics/Work Activities

  • Preparing accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user interface guides, and functional/design specification documents.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and IT to deliver product*s functional requirements like screen, interface, and GUI designs.
  • Documenting the acquired results of analysis and workflows as well as obtaining sign-off from the appropriate customers.
  • Designing and executing the test scripts and test scenarios.
  • Coordinating with the groups of business unit who test, validate, evaluate new applications and functions, and determine issues in services and software.
  • Managing any change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines.
  • Work closely with development team throughout life cycle


  • Work experience with standard system development life cycles (waterfall and agile scrum methodologies)
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver.
  • Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Typically has 3 to 5 years of IT work experience, Life Insurance Industry Experience is required.
Complexity: Professional level role. Facilitates solutions requiring analysis and research. Works on small to large projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments. Works on one or more projects as a project team.
